Elected by my peers at age 11, I found myself CMO of our class economics project. It was up to me to develop a compelling advertising strategy for Handy Hands which can only be described as latex gloves filled with flour and water. This sparked my interest in the world of advertising.
I graduated Cum Laude from Texas Tech University's College of Mass Communications with a major in advertising and a minor in marketing. I honed my skills at Portfolio Center in Atlanta, Georgia. There I had the opportunity to study not only copywriting, but design, typography, photography, art direction and illustration.
For the past three years at Havertys Furniture, I've been a part of virtually every aspect of the brand's communications. I've worked to stylize our message with a sleeker tone through TV, radio, print, web, Facebook, our monthly Style Guide and a store redesign. With the design team, I have also had the opportunity to art direct photography and create new user experience pages to enhance havertys.com.
I carry out my passion for typography and design through my side business, Felicity byRebecca. I'm working to sharpen my new calligraphy skill for this venture.
